Mantra 102 is at home off as well as on trail. Aside from its impressive deep snow performance, the Mantra 102 is a super stable, and solid on-piste ride. Its 3D Radius Sidecut combined with tip/tail rocker with center camber enables it to go absolutely anywhere. New Tailored Carbon Tips combined with a Tailored Titanal Frame reduce weight, and dampen vibration for a super smooth feel on the snow. The Mantra 102 is a rare combination of power and ease not usually found in skis of this width.
The Tailored Titanal Frame is the latest evolution of this proprietary Volkl construction. The width of the top Titanal sheet is adapted to the length of the ski to tailor the torsional stiffness damping behaviour specifically to that size. The amount of Titanal is reduced in shorter skis, which means lighter skiers get the best feel on the snow for their size. The new Tailored Carbon Tips allow Volkl engineers to influence flex characteristics more exactly for all ski sizes as well. The amount and alignment of the carbon matches the force needed so energy builds up exactly where it’s needed. appropriate shovel reaction means that as soon as the ski is tipped on edge to initiate a turn, it can engaged the snow a measured, easy way. When the skier thinks about changing making a turn, it happens with less effort and more quickly. This carbon fiber tip construction also reduces weight without loss of stability.
